Expenses: I spent around $2,274 in July.
I think my July was a little too expensive. I am struggling to keep my grocery budget in check. I had a goal of $265 a month but increased it to $300 last month. I am still way over the increased $300 budget. I also had some non normal expenses this month. I paid my yearly life insurance dues and website dues. We also bought our tickets for going home at Christmas.
Health/Fitness: $98- That included getting a filling at the dentist and my monthly gym membership.
Phone: $55- At&T no contract plan which I recommend.
Restaurants: $187- So this one is $87 over my $100 a month budget. I will say that $40 of it is reimbursable because I do secret shopping for Bestmark. $40 of the restaurant budget was for Zeeks pizza and I will get a check back. That means I am about $40 over our restaurant budget for the month.
Entertainment: $54 Still under the $75 budget I set. This is mostly a few movies or Groupons I bought for movies.
Bar/Alcohol: $18- For it being July, we have not spent a lot on alcohol. The budget here is $40.
Random Bullshit- $748. -Yep this one hurt this month. $458 for plane tickets, $150 for life insurance, $100 for website and another $48 in little shit. This should be a one off month for now.
This is not bad. I still hit after taxes a savings rate after tax of over 60% for the month. I am always aiming to shoot for a savings rate of 50% or more of my take home pay.
Deferred Compensation Account: $1,666
TD Ameritrade Personal Account: $1,500
PERS II Pension Contribution: $488
Conclusion: Again this was an expensive month but all said I still managed to put away a decent chunk of money away.
