If you read this blog, you know I love history. Look at all of the fucking pictures of me on the front of my blog and you will see I like going to historical places and, as German's say, make photos. If you do not know anything about Seattle, I can promise you its not that old as a city. That means there will be no 1500's Gothic churches or castles. But who needs old castles when you can check old turn of the century brick buildings???? Ok, its not the greatest thing in the world but it is worth checking out. Ballard does have a historical old town on Ballard Avenue Northwest not far from Market Street. I am not pretending to be a Seattle history expert so please do not grill me on any of this. All I can promise you is that some of the older buildings in this area are well marked with different plaques giving historical information. I am one for learning about the past especially in the city I occupy. Someone forged the way for us and whether it was good, bad, or ugly so why not learn? Below you can see some of the plaques. Go around the neighborhood and see what you can discover. Go inside and explore the shops and compare the past vs. the present. Imagine what once was and how much has changed. In some instances, an old bar is still a bar. I spent 2-3 hours to my wife's misery reading and checking out buildings. I did not get to all of them.
